What were you doing before elation?
“We were doing the voice of the employee survey, and it was similar in length to the Elation tool. It was like 45 questions, but I had broken it out into lots of different categories”
We were using the Gallup Q12 survey. There's questions like:
• Do you have a best friend at work and do you have the tools necessary?
So we were doing a lot of questions based on that. I modified that a bit into what I was calling the voice of the employee survey, and it was similar in length to the Elation tool. It was like 45 questions, but I had broken it out into lots of different categories. So engagement was the broad theme, but it had lots of niche questions that I could drill into:
• Compensation and benefits
• Supervision
• Is the work meaningful to you?
That was then set aside because we felt like it was too long, too many questions, and so then we broke down over to three questions:
• Are you happy?
• Do you have the tools you need to perform your job?
• And what would you change?
After finding Elation
It produced a personalized report for every individual employee's performance stressors and buffers.
Elation helps us to slice and dice the data based on location, department.
We even collected some data based on salary, pay bands, and some other demographic information.
It's been helpful to have professional support in bifurcating the data and be able to ingest it in different ways and different locations.
The personal report is also another benefit because in the past as employees participate in surveys they would ask "and now what? what should I do?"
So having the Elation personal report after doing the Elation Assessment, gave employees a reward for completing the survey, and provides value with actionable items to take.
Ultimately, we need to be able to take action as a result of the survey data.
One of the challenges we've had in the past with the very, very simplified version is it didn't really drill in depth into any area. We had a broad perspective on "how happy people are", but now what was the root cause of the problem?
Elation allowed us to find the root cause influencers affecting or undermining our performance.
Key takeaways using Elation:
• Helped slice and dice employee data based on location, department, and salary
• Provided the ability to analyze data and digest it in different ways
• Offered personalized reports for employees to guide them on what to do
• Generated actionable steps to improve organizational performance
• Helped Full circle dive deeper and understand issues affecting team's performance
